Wai-o-tapu

Day 2 Main Activity 1

The famous attraction I chose is The Golden Pavilion

  • The Golden Pavilion is a Zen temple located in Kyoto, Japan.
  • The Two top layers of The Golden Pavilion is covered with pure gold leaf formally known as Rokuon Ji.
  • Kinkakuji is another name for The Golden Pavilion

I would like to visit The Golden Pavilion to see the golden layers.

It is in a whole new country and going to Japan would be an once in a lifetime experience.

In this photo you can see that each level has a different design.

The first floor is made of natural wood and white plaster. The second floor is completely covered in gold leaf and the top floor is built in the style of a Chinese Zen hall.
